ENRRA Holds Management Review Meeting to Strengthen Institutional Performance and Governance

As part of its continuous efforts to enhance institutional performance, governance, risk management, and regulatory oversight of nuclear and radiological activities, Dr. Hany Khedr, Chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), chaired the Management Review Meeting held on Monday, 16 February 2026.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Gad, Vice Chairman of ENRRA, along with sector and department heads. It aimed to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure its continued effectiveness in supporting ENRRA’s critical regulatory functions, thereby safeguarding people, property, and the environment from nuclear and radiological risks in accordance with the highest applicable international standards.

During the meeting, Dr. Eng. Sherif Bakr, Head of the Quality and Audit Department, presented the Management Review Report, which addressed several key areas, including the implementation status of actions arising from the previous review meeting, policies of the Integrated Management System and safety culture, as well as an analysis of internal and external audit results and corrective actions for 2025 to ensure ongoing compliance with the IMS. The review also covered the effectiveness of risk and opportunity management, progress toward achieving ENRRA’s strategic objectives for 2025, and key recommendations. Representatives from the Quality Department, including Dr. Hebaallah Sakr and Dr. Ahmed Eldala, participated in the meeting.

The meeting concluded with the identification of lessons learned and the endorsement of a package of recommendations and improvement measures aimed at further enhancing the Integrated Management System and strengthening ENRRA’s overall efficiency.

In this context, the Chairman emphasized that the “Management Review” represents a fundamental strategic tool for institutional development rather than merely a procedural requirement, commending the pivotal role played by the quality and audit teams. The meeting concluded with directives to ensure close follow-up on the implementation of the adopted recommendations in order to measure their direct impact on ENRRA’s performance and efficiency.
