The Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) Organizes an Awareness Seminar for Students of the STEM Scientific Writing Competition at the Central Student Activities Headquarters

In light of the awareness-raising role undertaken by the Public Relations and International Cooperation Department of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) in promoting public awareness and strengthening institutional communication, Dr. Mahitab El Manawy, Head of the Department, delivered a simplified awareness seminar for students on ENRRA’s role in Egypt’s peaceful nuclear programme and the importance of nuclear and radiological safety in protecting people and the environment. The seminar was held on the sidelines of the STEM Scientific Writing Competition at the Central Student Activities Headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.

The seminar was conducted under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, within the framework of a joint cooperation with the Ministry, and in coordination with the Central Administration for Student Activities, led by Dr. Iman Mohamed Hassan, with follow-up and implementation by the General Administration of Libraries headed by Dr. Zeinab Nour El-Din Mashhour.

The seminar addressed concepts of nuclear and radiological safety in a simplified and direct manner, while highlighting the vital role played by ENRRA in overseeing the peaceful nuclear programme and ensuring compliance with relevant national and international standards. The event was also attended by Mr. Ramy Afifi, Senior Specialist for Strategic Communication and International Cooperation at ENRRA, who responded to a number of questions and inquiries raised by participating students.

The seminar aims to raise students’ awareness of contemporary scientific issues, link theoretical knowledge with practical application, and provide an interactive platform for dialogue and inquiries regarding ENRRA’s role in protecting society and the environment. This contributes to strengthening critical thinking, promoting a culture of safe and responsible use of nuclear and radiological applications, and preparing a well-informed generation capable of facing future challenges with confidence and awareness.
