Senior Lawyer (Part Time)

Main Job Purpose                                                

The Senior lawyer primarily responsible for providing legal advice to ENRRA and supporting the legal aspects of all ENRRA’s responsibilities and activities pursuant to the Law (as amended), its Executive Regulations, regulations and all other rules and decrees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice with respect to all ENRRA’s activities and responsibilities pursuant to the National Laws, its Executive Regulations, regulations and all other rules and decrees.
  • Provide legal advice to Sectors, Departments and Units of ENRRA and ENRRA staff with respect to their specific functions.
  • Assist in development of draft regulations and other requirements, rules, guidelines and decrees (including modifications to existing regulatory documents) relating to ENRRA’s responsibilities and activities, including review for compatibility with the national legal and regulatory system of the Arab Republic of Egypt, international conventions to which the Arab Republic of Egypt is a contracting party and relevant IAEA safety standards.
  • Review the legal aspects of licenses, permits, approvals, and authorizations issued by ENRRA.
  • Draft and reviews legal aspects of official correspondences to stakeholders.
  • Oversee and provides legal advice to ENRRA with respect to ENRRA’s responsibilities under international conventions and other multilateral and bilateral agreements to which the Arab Republic of Egypt is a contracting party and with respect to those to which the Arab Republic of Egypt is not a contracting party.
  • Coordinate with the International Cooperation Department and the relevant Sectors, regarding preparation of national/ international cooperation agreements/memorandums of understanding with interested parties as well as nuclear and radiation regulatory bodies in other countries.
  • Provide advices with respect to ENRRA’s cooperation with Foreign countries and their regulatory bodies, and International organizations.
  • Manage the appeal function within ENRRA with respect to licensing and other administrative decisions of ENRRA.
  • Represent ENRRA in various meetings regarding legal matters, both within the Arab Republic of Egypt and in foreign countries.
  • Support the drafting of memorandums of understanding, policies and agreements.
  • Carry out all other functions relevant to this Department and as directed by the Head of Legal Affairs Department.

Qualifications
Education
  • University degree (LL. B in Law).
Experience
  • Working experience of no less than nine years in the field of Law within government entities.
  • Experience In the field of international contracts.
Computer Skills
  • Professional computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Languages
  • Excellent command of English language (oral and written).
Training/ Certificates
  • Accomplishment of practical training courses.
