International Treaties and Conventions

Egypt is signatory of various international conventions, treaties and agreements in the field of safety. Egypt is contracting party of the following treaties and conventions, most of them an administrated by the IAEA;

2. Agreement on the Application of Safeguards in connection with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons: 1981
3. Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT): 1981
4. Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident (NOT): 1988
5. Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency (ASSIST): 1988
6. Joint Protocol relating to the Application of the Vienna Convention and the Paris Convention (JP): 1992
