The Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) Board of Directors, headed by H.E Prof. Dr. Sami Shaaban, agrees to grant the construction permit of the Third Unit of the Nuclear Power Plant in El-Dabaa.

The Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) Board of Directors, headed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Sami Shaaban, agreed in its session No. 2 held today, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, to grant the construction  permit of the Third Unit of the Nuclear Power Plant in El-Dabaa.

In accordance with Law No. 7 of 2010 regulating nuclear and radiological activities, and its executive regulation issued by Prime Minister Resolution No. 1326 of 2011, and its amendments issued by Resolution No. 211 of 2017, that identifies the various procedures for licensing nuclear facilities, ENRRA has taken all procedures necessary to verify the availability of the maximum levels of safety measures for the nuclear project in El-Dabaa in accordance with the best international standards.

It’s worth mentioning that ENRRA has granted the Nuclear Power Plants Authority the construction permit of the First Unit in June 2022, and the construction permit of the Second Unit in October 2022.
