Clarification Statement by the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA)
Saturday, 14 June 2025:

In light of the current situation in the region, ENRRA affirms that there is no evidence of any change or increase in background radiation levels across the Arab Republic of Egypt.

ENRRA continues to monitor the status of nearby nuclear facilities closely and continuously, in accordance with the evolving circumstances. This is being ensured through the following measures:

– Ongoing assessment of information and reports issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in coordination with relevant national authorities.

– Real-time monitoring of radiation background levels using ENRRA’s Radiological Monitoring, Early Warning, and Notification System, which is based on state-of-the-art radiation detection technologies deployed nationwide.

– ENRRA reiterates the importance of relying exclusively on official statements issued by the Authority as the credible and authoritative source of information regarding any nuclear or radiological concerns.
